They ventured into this business because of their liking towards hospitality and low capital investment. They were mainly concentrating on adventure tourism. At their initial stage they just had a mobile and a computer but later on in 2004-2005 due to sheer hardwork and optimistic thinking he was able to make a turnover of Rs. 4, 00,000 with branches in Delhi and Kochi. In 2005-2006, they enjoyed a turnover of Rs.9,00,000 with branches extending to Chennai and Bangalore. In 2006-2007 the turnover was Rs.15, 00,000 and in 2007-2008 turnover increased to Rs.25,00,000 with agent offices in Trivandrum, Alleppy, Munnar, Thekkady. The reason for the growth is that India has the 7th place in the lonely planet travel book, there is nearly 30% increase in the inflow of tourist every year, customers are preferring Emperor travels because of their exemplary service and marketing techniques.
Now Emperor Tours and Travels has flourished to become one of South India’s paramount tour operators of adventure and cultural tours. It has its head office in Kochi which is operating from a six hundred sq.feet building at M.G Road which was started in 2005-2006, 8 fleet (3 travellor, 5 cars) and has 3 computers and 2 laptops. They mainly concentrate on adventure tourism, Trecking and Cycling tour (at 10$ per day). Apart from this they also arrange Kathakali, Martial arts etc for tourist as per their demand. For this they have a common theatre having a seating capacity of 100 persons, were the tourist is to pay Rs 150 per head.
